The James A. Michener Art Museum, named for Doylestown's Pulitzer-Prize winning author and philanthropist, is ideally located in the heart of scenic Bucks County. The museum is housed in a beautifully restored historic site that began as the Bucks County prison in 1884. Today, the Michener has been transformed into a welcoming center of culture and beauty providing a dramatic and elegant setting in which to entertain guests, clients and employees. The grounds of the Michener Art Museum, including our lovely Patricia D. Pfundt Sculpture Garden, are available for corporate photo shoots or wedding photography. The Michener offers a truly unique experience for all kinds of events accommodated in our various indoor and outdoor spaces:
Jimmy Duffy's represents three generations of catering excellence and dedication to its clients, including James Michener, Pearl Buck and Oscar Hammerstein in its 72 years of catering service. Come sample their fare in the Watershed Cafe in our Museum Shop during Museum hours. During your celebration you and your guests may stroll through our galleries and view works by many well-known regional and national artists. Explore and enjoy as you wander through these galleries of artistic expression. Have questions? Just ask our event staff. Formal tours of the galleries may also be arranged.
The Michener is completely accessible to persons with disabilities, is air-conditioned and offers ample free parking. Audio-visual equipment is available for corporate events.
