The sole source of information about this work comes from two issues of The Argus, the campus publication of Illinois Wesleyan University. The work was in the possession of alumni O. W. Aldrich, class of 1896, who donated the painting to Illinois Wesleyan University in 1923, along with Trego’s “Battery—Halt!” (The Argus, 15 November 1923, p. 8; The Argus, 27 March 1929, p. 3)

Unfortunately, Illinois Wesleyan University can find no record of it.
