Areas to Support

By supporting the Michener, you play a vital role in ensuring the Museum’s continuing ability to present world-class exhibitions, classes, and programs. Your gift is invaluable to the future of the institution, and to make that gift even more impactful, we are pleased to offer the following targeted giving opportunities:

Build the Collection

The Michener Art Museum’s mission to serve as a center for the study of the region’s artistic traditions guides the Museum’s collecting practices. Since opening, the Michener has acquired a remarkable collection of over 3,000 works of art which document the changing relationships of artists to their physical and cultural environments and their technical and conceptual innovations.

Gifts for artwork acquisition allow the Museum to take an active stance on collection growth and purchase extraordinary artworks that might otherwise remain beyond our reach.

To learn more about targeted acquisitions that need funding, please contact Candace Clarke, Director of Development, at 215.340.9800 ext. 148 or cclarke1@michenerartmuseum.org.

Endowment Opportunities

Endowment funding is a critical way to ensure that the Michener can continue to thrive for generations to come. By providing reliable funding for select activities and operating costs, endowment funds offer both institutional security and flexibility- freeing up resources to support new initiatives that ensure the Museum continues to evolve. The generosity of our friends and benefactors is essential to the continued growth of the Museum. Whether you choose to make an outright gift, pledge, or other form of planned gift, know that your generosity is helping to strengthen the Michener’s future.

For more information about making an endowment gift, please contact Candace Clarke, Director of Development, at 215.340.9800 ext. 148 or cclarke1@michenerartmuseum.org.

Exhibition Sponsorship

Every year, the Michener presents five to ten special exhibitions that explore themes within our collection, such as in-depth studies of artists and collectors, exploring unique contemporary practices, and much more.

By choosing to sponsor an exhibition, you demonstrate your commitment to presenting lively, innovative scholarship, while providing much needed funding for the research, art transportation, and gallery design which play a critical role in the success of each show.

For more information about upcoming exhibitions that could benefit from your support, please contact Candace Clarke, Director of Development, at 215.340.9800 ext. 148 or cclarke1@michenerartmuseum.org.

Supporting Education

Education is a cornerstone of the Michener’s mission. Throughout the galleries, visitors have the chance to engage deeply with the artwork on display through tours and gallery talks. Exhibitions are enhanced and illuminated with lectures by artists and scholars. Our popular Jazz Night series offers live performances to enliven the gallery spaces and creatively connect to our collection, and Unplugged Family Days engages young audiences through exciting performances and artmaking activities.

Additionally, the Museum is proud to offer the only art classes in Bucks County where learners of all ages create original works of art in response to their experiences in the galleries. Art classes offer individualized attention, small class sizes, frequent gallery tours, and access to master teachers. Through exposure to a variety of art forms and materials, all courses encourage the development of new skills and build confidence in creative expression.

Your support of education and public programs at the Michener allows us to present these remarkable opportunities to learn and connect to as broad an audience as possible.
