Lying within the historic prison walls, is the Patricia D. Pfundt Sculpture Garden and terraced landscaped courtyards. The Michener is a 40,000 square foot jewel box ideal for weddings and celebrations, networking receptions, and gala dinners. Event guests are welcome to explore the art galleries and make use of our conference facilities for business meetings or retreats.
Host Your Event
The Sculpture Garden is a beautiful private oasis for a lovely wedding ceremony or as a chill space for cocktail hour. The terrace can comfortably accommodate a 40-by-60-foot tent for larger events that include the entire gardens and Pavilion. Tenting also offers another ceremony option for unexpected weather.
Another popular cocktail location is on the other side of the Pavilion. Often tented, it provides shade on a hot day and is a cool up-lit cocktail vibe at night. Couches and ornate furniture may be brought in to enhance this artful showcase. In the picture, note that the shades of the Pavilion are down preventing guests looking into the dining room during cocktails. On cue, the shades rise in unison, revealing our gorgeous Pavilion as we invite your delighted guests to take their seats.
Whether a seated dinner or a flowing cocktail-style reception the Edgar N. Putnam Event Pavilion, awarded a gold medal for architectural excellence, provides an elegant space for modern entertaining. A recent addition is the up- lighting of the entire gorgeous stone wall creating a dramatic backdrop for your evening event. A state-of-the-art sound system and theatrical ceiling lighting further enhance the setting.
The Michener Art Museum is an ideal event location. With many attractions in Doylestown and nearby New Hope, The Museum is within 25 miles of Philadelphia, Allentown, and Princeton, and a two-hour drive from New York City.
