Accessibility

Visitors and members may be accompanied by paid Personal Care Attendants (PCA) at no additional cost during their visit to the Michener Art Museum. This applies to general admission, ticketed programs, and other events the visitor or member is attending.  If you would like to request admission for a PCA, please inform Visitor Services upon arrival.

Visitors who are on the Autism Spectrum

Prepare for your experience at the Michener Art Museum with our social narratives. These guides contain photographs and descriptions of what you can expect during your visit. Please note, galleries and the quiet space may look different upon arrival due to changing exhibitions and/or events.

Sensory Kits are also available at the front desk and may be checked out during your visit. These kits may include books about our exhibitions or artworks, noise-reducing headphones (child/teen and teen/adult sizes available), fidgets, and laminated communication boards. Sensory Kits are available on a first come, first served basis and should be returned to the front desk upon departure.

The Michener Art Museum is a Certified Autism Center through The International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards.
