Philadelphia native Sam Maitin is best known for his colorful prints, murals, paintings, and sculptures displaying his abstract forms and signature use of calligraphy as a design element. Early in his career, Maitin explored themes relating to the garden, myths, and poetry; the exhibition’s curators have worked with the artist’s family to compile a selection of these early prints, including a number from his limited edition series Basic Animals.

Myths & Nature: Early Prints by Sam Maitin is generously supported by Luther W. Brady.

The exhibition program in the Bette and Nelson Pfundt Gallery is presented by Vivian Banta and Robert Field.
